MDLIV - 3D Motion Graphics: Loop Earplugs

LOOP EARPLUGS
For Motion DesignLab IV- 3D Motion Graphics, we had to make a a collaboration between Loop earplugs and a company of choice. I have chosen EXHALE, a techno concept and label by Amelie Lens.
▶ MOODBOARD: EXHALE
EXHALE prominently features 3D shapes. Upon reaching out to the artist responsible for the 3D artwork, I discovered that Cinema 4D was employed for its creation. This synergy is beneficial as I too am proficient in Cinema 4D. Notably, the color palette predominantly consists of shades of blue, black, white, and grey.
▶ MOODBOARD: LOOP EARPLUGS
There are numerous Loop models available, and we will be focusing on the basic ones. We have the option to include the "Loop Mute" or not. The logo for Loop earplugs is quite simple, just "loop" without any capital letters. Additionally, the earplugs themselves are very small.
▶ MOODBOARD: LOOP EARPLUGS + EXHALE
A collab between EXHALE and Loop would probably look like this. Lots of black and blue and maybe even some metallic materials.
▶ SKETCHES
I have selected a mix between the first and second design, without the inclusion of the blue line. I believe its presence would detract from the emphasis on "EXHALE." Hence, I opted for the "Loop Mute" (referred to as "demper" in my sketch). This element substitutes the lines while introducing a blue component to the design.
▶ MODELING
In the workshop given by our lecturer Wes, we created a LOOP model from scratch. In this proces I learned a lot of new things that I will remember for the future.
▶ TESTRENDERS & ANIMATION
These are some first renders of my design. In the final render, I changed the black base color to a very dark blue one and changed the materials to something more "shiny" for the reflections. I decided to leave the white circle out because then I would have more space for the SVO-animations.
▶ STORYBOARD
▶ EDITING
The SVO-animations were a bit of a struggle in the beginning, but once I rendered my loops with Alpha Channel, I came to a conlusion that it would look nice if the decibelnumbers appear behind the Loops with a glitchy effect. I used "Saber" from VideoCopilot and an extra glitchy effect from Adobe Bridge.
For the call to action at the end I was inspired by the colors of the website of Exhale.
To edit everything together was harder than I thought because the music is fast and upbeat. I used my own footage of the Exhale events to create an exrta personal touch to the project. I used overlays  and dissovle transitions.
For sound I used Elevenlabs to create a voiceover. For music I bought a song from the label of Exhale: Radiance by Amelie Lens.

▶ RESULT
I have made two versions, the only difference is the voice over at the end. The first one has the mandatory voice over sentence at the end, the second one the one I personally like the most for my portfolio.
